This Saturday, legendary Vancouver DJ, Vinyl Ritchie plays a 2 hour set at Beat Street Records. Vinyl Richie is one of Vancouver and Whistlers original DJs. He is currently touring the world, lighting dancefloors on fire with his unique brand of funk. He currently holds a longstanding residency at Shine Nightclub with his Big Sexy Funk Saturdays.

Vinyl Richie is a member of Canadian songwriting duo Lester formed in 1998. Made up of musician/producer and all around workhorse Brian Carson and prominent West Coast DJ /producer/David Hasslehoff look alike, Scott Arkwell AKA DJ Vinyl Ritchie. Lester’s music has been described as “downright filthy, primetime block rockers” by Jockey Slut magazine. DJ Freddy Fresh says “[Lester] definitely have the funk” and included them on his ‘Abstract Funk Theory’ compilation for BMG Europe and his 7″ ‘Howlin’ USA’. Lester is on compilations for U.F.O. from Japan, Stuff Magazine, Wall Paper Magazine, The Conran Shop in Paris, Milan Music in Paris, Xocoa chocolate/cafe in Barcelona, Brickhouse in Germany and Clubstar in Germany just to name a few.
