Available in store, April 16th 2016 for Record Store Day.  Extra copies will be available online April 17th.

For Tempa’s maiden Record Store Day release, the label turns to multi-disciplined producer Om Unit, founder of the highly acclaimed Cosmic Bridge label, to press to vinyl for the first time his ribcage-rattling 170bpm remixes of two heavyweight classics from the Tempa catalogue: J:Kenzo’s ‘Ruffhouse’ and Nomine’s ‘Blind Man’

Over the past couple of years Om Unit has gone from strength to strength releasing on labels such as Metalheadz and Exit, as well as building solid foundations on his own Cosmic Bridges Label. Now a leading figure in the new age of drum and bass, Om Unit is not afraid to push the boundaries of the genre into new and unfamiliar territories.

An instant anthem on its release in 2011, J:Kenzo’s bassbin worrying halfstepper ‘Ruffhouse’ is re-worked here with Om Unit’s usual deft touch, maintaining the original’s deep undercurrent of dread, swelling to a dizzying crescendo as the break is pushed ever higher in the mix.

Nomine’s ‘Blind Man’ is perhaps the best track to experience the producer's innate ability to use subtle sonic gestures to create a massive physical and emotional impact. Om Unit’s rolling remix preserves the original’s seething sub-bass pressure and hypnotic half-time feel, using intricate percussion and the plucked string refrain to ratchet up the energy to frenetic levels.

Both tracks have been a staple in Om Unit’s DJ sets over the past year, receiving overwhelmingly positive reactions from venues ranging in size from Outlook Festival to Brixton’s Phonox.
