Some choice\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cspan\u003emoments from these sessions made it onto Villarreal’s critically-\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cspan\u003eacclaimed 2022 album Panamá 77, but most of the music\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cspan\u003eremained unreleased.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cspan\u003eLados B is a deep dive into the high-level spontaneous music\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cspan\u003emade by Villarreal, Parker, and Butterss across those two days\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cspan\u003ein 2020. Villarreal is heard leading the group through various\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cspan\u003erhythmic modes and structures for improvisation – flow as\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cspan\u003einformed by the Latin funk of Fania Records as it is by the\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cspan\u003eotherworldly humanity trance of Brain Records – while Parker\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cspan\u003eand Butterss draw on their extensive experience playing free\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cspan\u003etogether (as heard on their ETA IVtet LPs) to build harmonic\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cspan\u003ebuoys for their spontaneous melodicism.
