Buscrates is one of the most important producers in the modern Funk scene and for the last few years he's been releasing some of the most musically adventurous and danceable tracks by any new producer doing it today. For his latest we find the Pittsburgh musician/producer/DJ linking up with New York's High Water Music making this the first non-Hip Hop release on the label (for the last 16 years High Water Music has dropped many classics such as Sonic Smash by DJ Spinna, The Good Sun by Homeboy Sandman and Marmalade by Brainorchestra just to name just a few).

This 7" features two classic tracks getting that Buscrates treatment that will bring them from the 80s and 90's to the '20's and beyond. First off we have a cover of the monumental Gypsy Woman feat. feat Key Era. We all know Gypsy Woman as one of the biggest House records ever and now you can re-experience it as a downtempo funky track with one of the meanest baselines you'll hear in a while.

On the flip we have Even When You Sleep which was nice in the 80's but now is groovier, funkier than ever, and ready to make dancefloors vibe to Buscrates frequencies.

All in all this is another winner for Buscrates and a great way for High Water Music to branch out and expand.
