Coolio - Gangsta's Paradise 2LP

Tommy Boy

2020 marked the 25th anniversary of the release of Coolio's pivotal and best-selling album, Gangsta's Paradise. To celebrate the anniversary, Tommy Boy re-released the critically-acclaimed album on colored 180g vinyl 2LP! Originally released in 1995, it produced three hit singles: the title track "Gangsta's Paradise" (first used in the 1995 film Dangerous Minds, starring Michelle Pfeiffer), "1, 2, 3, 4 (Sumpin' New)", and "Too Hot". The album received a Grammy nomination for Best Rap Album, with lead-single "Gangsta's Paradise," taking home the Grammy for Best Rap Solo Performance in 1996. Certified 3x platinum by the RIAA in the US, the album's three singles all went on to hit the Billboard Hot 100, with "Gangsta's Paradise" hitting the No. 1 spot as well as many other pop charts around the world. Re-mastered from the original analog tapes by Joe LaPorta at Sterling Sound, this 25th anniversary release also features unreleased mixes of hit single, "1, 2, 3, 4 (Sumpin' New)."
