Produced by Impel in 1991, these cards featured both live and studio photos on the front and biographical band member info and band trivia on the back.
In 1991, the lines between what was "metal" and "hard rock" and "heavy rock" was still very blurry to some folks so this card series includes a very wide array of bands and artists - from Judas Priest and Iron Maiden to Slaughter, Motley Crue and Bon Jovi to lesser-known bands such as The Front and Heavens Edge to cult favorites like Dark Angel, Nuclear Assault and M.O.D. to (what the?) Robert Plant and Billy Squier. Also included: Vixen, LA Guns, King Diamond, Firehouse, Dio and MSG.
There were 150 cards total in the set and seven hologram band logo "chase" cards.
