Grammy and Academy Award-winning singer/songwriter Sam Smith follows up his multi-Platinum debut and sophomore albums, In the Lonely Hour and The Thrill of It All with his third studio effort, Love Goes. Its 17 songs were written over the course of the past two years. The pandemic gave Smith a fresh perspective on the album and impacted both its title and the recording of tracks such as "My Oasis," a cross-continental collaboration with Burna Boy, and the dazzling dancefloor anthem "Diamonds." Love Goes also features collaborations with Normani on the chart-topping "Dancing with a Stranger," Labrinth ("Love Goes") and Calvin Harris ("Promises").
"The last two years have been the most experimental time of my life, personally but also musically," Smith detailed. "Every time I went to the studio I promised myself I would shoot for the stars and have no limitations. The result has been so magical and so therapeutic and fun. My love for music is so broad and all of my musical guilty pleasures became pleasures. No guilt, no shame, just the love of singing and creating and dancing...I am so sorry it's taken a while. But these unprecedented times game me the room and space to fall in love with these songs all over again. Listen to these songs with an open heart, treat each song like a different flower from the garden and have fun with them."
For the artwork for Love Goes, Smith worked with world-renowned British fashion photographer/filmmaker Alasdair McLellan (Vogue, Kim Jones, Louis Vuitton). 180-gram 2LP-set housed in a double-pocket gatefold jacket with printed inner sleeves.
